Santos Sports 5-2 Mags Inter U8’s

First game of the Halewood Sunday league today, and the boys took just 5 seconds to get going! A four pass move including all outfield players straight from kick off, finished by Abel, gave us the lead, and the ball hadn’t left the floor.

Overall the 1st half was an end to end game, with plenty of chances and both keepers making some important saves before we added a couple more nice goals through Harry W and Harry L. The passing and work rate was impressive from all the boys.

Mags came back into the game straight after half time while we were unexpectedly a man down, but that setback didn’t stop the boys. The woodwork was struck twice before a long range strike from Harry W and a brilliant finish from Jenson clinched the game.

Oliver Blake and Axel were vital with some excellent interceptions, tackles and building attacks, and when Mags did get through Albi in goal showed great handling and reflexes.

Parents MOM Harry L - his workrate was outstanding.

Coaches MOM Blake - his confidence and reading of the game is growing week after week.

Nice message afterwards from their manager praising the boys passing was a nice end to a good weekend of football.
