Ballymun welcomed Wayside on Saturday afternoon in the next round of the SFAI Trophy. Ballymun were full of confidence from the previous round and hoped to get off to a positive start today, and that they did although it was very cagey and nervy for both sides Lj stepped up once again to produce another moment of magic from distance to open the scoring for ballymun. With that the team grew in confidence and dominated play for the following minutes but couldn’t find a second. Wayside made it difficult for the most part and scored late on through a long ball which took a deflection off Cian in goal and fell to their striker in the box to level the scoring. Ballymun reacted in the right way and continued to use the ball well in areas, they found Lj in space again and he had a glance and let fly from distance and found the net for his second of the day and to send Ballymun into the next round. The Ballymun back line were super today and a special mention to Alvaro Da silva who had a stormer in the centre of the pitch today.
