Ballymun utd 2009 2 vs 1 Palmerstown Fc

Ballymun hosted Palmerstown on Saturday 11th May on a sunny day in Ballymun complex. With the young mun winless in 5 and Palmerstown flying ahead of them in the table it was time for the young men to get back to winning ways and finish the season in the right way. The lads came out from minute one and flew at Palmerstown, finding space in behind particularly on either wing in behind we were getting a lot of joy. Cian and Tadhg having their markers early on looked promising. Ballymun controlled possession in ways they haven’t of late and looked extremely sharp. Especially through Daniel and lj in the middle. We were awarded a free kick from a fair distance Dan and Lj stepped up.. Lj striking and finding the net with an unbelievable strike. Ballymun 1-0 up and a deserving lead. They boys controlled and got into half time ahead. Palmerstown came out second half strong and with a huge gap in the middle a long ball found its way beyond the lads which was then converted and they were level. Ballymun needed a little bit of luck and more hard work to turn it around, they were dominating the ball and a lovely passage of play found its way into the box through Cillian who was brought down and awarded a penalty 3 mins from the end! The ever reliable Lj steps up and takes all 3 points for the mun giving the keeper no chance. A well and truly great performance from the lads and finally got their result they deserved.
