Ballymun utd 2009 1 vs 2 Cabinteely

Ballymun hosted Cabinteely in their opening home match of the season hopeful of 3points.

The mun started a little bit ropey giving the ball away cheaply and looked very nervous. They weathered the storm and took the lead in the 14th minute through Felix Siju who produced a superb free kick. Ballymun then looked like a different side going forward with the help of the goal but found themselves giving the Cabinteely #9 to much space which he took advantage of he spun cian and scored a brilliant goal to level the scoring. The second half was nothing short of fantastic from ballymun they dominated for 3 quarters of the half but just fell short of a second goal. Nico, Tadhg and Dan all coming close but just shy of the net. Fair play to Cabinteely who held on and in the dying moments a lofted ball found its way into the ballymun six yard box which ultimately found its way into our net and gave cabinteely the win. Really tough to take as Ballymun deserved all three points but unfortunately that’s football and we’ll move onto the next. MOTM was Connor who was absolutely outstanding.
