Ballivor FC U14 4 vs 2 Walshestown FC

Tough game against a physical team. Several injuries throughout the game meant all the subs were required to put in solid performances. That’s exactly what they delivered. A lovely goal early from Adam R, direct from a corner, put us 1 ahead after a few minutes. Unfortunately a deflected cross for the opponents found the back of the net shortly after. The lads dug in and with 3 simple passes, Tadgh McG was put through on the keeper and fouled (and injured) in the box to win a penalty (scored by Adam R).

It remained 2-1 until the 60th minute. We created about 6 or 7 good chances in this time but failed to convert. That was when the opponents broke through on goal, seemed to foul Tadgh C with a clear elbow in the face before scoring, but were given the goal.

Our lads wouldn’t let that slow them down, they fought back hard. A couple of minutes later, Adam R struck again from a free kick to secure his hat-trick. A couple of minutes later a low cross was calmly slotted home by Adam C to secure the win.

Well done to every one of the boys today, the contribution each player made was really important. They kept their heads (for the most part!) and played some fantastic football.
