Ballivor FC U14 7 vs 1 Virginia FC

Up against strong title rivals today, this was set to be a defining game for the season. From the whistle, it was clear that the lads meant business. The work rate, pressing & covering in defence, and the movement with clever passing when attacking, was absolutely wonderful to watch. An early goal settled the nerves, and 2 more followed. At 3-0, Virginia were awarded a penalty for no apparent reason, and TadghC made a crucial save before heading off to his baby sisters Christening leaving Oisin to step in to cover!!

The 2nd half saw the lads continue as they left off, netting 4 more goals and creating many more chances. Defensively our lads were impeccable, cutting out any chance for the opposition to get back into the game. With a late consolation goal, a strong Virginia team never gave up, but it was a day for Ballivor.

Everyone watching was treated to a fantastic team performance today, probably one of the best this team has put together to date. It’s impossible to pick out anyone for man of the match and that’s a credit to every single player, subs included! Also worth noting that the discipline and behaviour of the lads was 2nd to none today, despite multiple decisions going against us throughout the game. Well done to everyone, let’s build on that performance and make it the norm!
