Ballivor FC U14 3 vs 2 Boyne Rovers FC

A bit of a slow start, we were caught napping and Boyne scored to take the early lead. This woke the sleeping giants of Ballivor, and it wasn’t long before we fought back to level the game. The match was extremely tight, with two very strong teams going head to head in every position, not willing to give up easy chances. A goal came with the run of play for Ballivor from a corner in the 26th minute, after we had created a few decent chances just beforehand.

The heat was draining the lads and the half time whistle was very welcome! After the break, Boyne came out strong and scored early to level the game. It stayed level for a long time with both teams creating good chances and both keepers playing a blinder. It took a long range strike 3mins from the end to break the deadlock. Heartbreaking for Boyne after a really hard fought game but Ballivor showed true grit and determination to dig out the win. Very tough opposition and very hot conditions today for the lads but their efforts were rewarded with 3 more points. 2 games left, and a win is needed in both to secure the league.
