Round 6 saw Axis of Evil up against QUT Gold in a grand final rematch. A chance at redemption. But after a bright start, it was not to be Evil's night.
The opening 45 minutes was business as usual. Plenty of positive play. Only one shortcoming: too many wasted chances. Evil should have gone to the break with 7 in the bag but were left wanting.
It was 3-1 to Evil at the break after goals from Tracey, Bourke and Ham with assists from Mike and Kyle.
QUT came out firing in the second half. They were far from beat and grew in confidence as the game wore on.
Unfortunately, it was a different tale for Evil. Plenty of chances were created but the finishing touch was lacking. Adge channeled Gold Five Leader with his "stay on target! stay on target!" chants from the sideline.
QUT made the most of their chances. Two quick goals and a very debatable penalty and it was 4-3 to QUT.
The woodwork denied a late equaliser.
Evil take on QUT Yellow this week on the same voodoo pitch that is Prentice Park.
