Ashby Ivanhoe Knights 1 vs 2 Gillway FC

We wanted a reaction from last week’s performance & score & we certainly got that this morning and was treated to some exciting attacking play.

We narrowly lost this one by one goal but we came so close to drawing level in the second half. The link up play between our attacking players today and their quick passing and thinking was so exciting to watch, especially in the second half where we absolutely dominated & deserved more from it.

A superb build up goal between Zach, Lucas & Jude allowed Louis to grab his first goal of the season and give us some confidence and energy to go and make the score level but it wasn’t to be. However, the effort and determination to try and get level was clearly there. We can’t fault their efforts at all.

Jax nearly made it level with an amazing shot from outside the box that hit the bar, Lucas came close as well as Jude right at the end & a shout out to Dexter for another solid performance starting in attack today.

Well done to Joseph who had such a good game in goal and marked an achievement by conceding the least amount of goals for the team since starting out in a competitive game.

Ben & Freddie were absolutely solid in front of him and they communicated well. They were hardly troubled in the second half.

Lots of positives to take and to build on from this.
