AFC Normanton 3 vs 6 Rolls Royce First

With a depleted squad against Division 1 high fliers we knew we were in for a tough match, so when 2 players let you down so close to kick off it did not help the cause.

The match started with 2 early goals, one for each side with JJ equalising a minute after Rolls Royce took the lead. The game then settled down and it was on a knife edge for a while until Rolls Royce raced into a 4-1 half time lead with some sloppy Normanton defending.

Things were compounded with the torrential rain, which cut the pitch up really bad and made the second half a lottery and it was very difficult for the lads to play any kind of decent football, 2 more Rolls Royce goals killed the game off with 35 minutes still to play!

But then on came super sub Janis and before you knew it we had pulled 2 goals back with a brace from Brandon to give us a glimmer of hope of a major comeback!!

Unfortunately though that was the end of the scoring and we exited the cup in very wet and muddy conditions and rolls Royce march on to try and defend their trophy.

Its a shame as I think with a full strength squad it would definitely of been a lot closer and I think without doubt we would of beaten them?
