Luton Phoenix Reserves 1 vs 2 AFC Chiltern First

Chilterns first win of the season comes in our second game after a highly disappointing opening fixture versus Markyate.

On a very warm day, the boys went out and gave their all in a well drilled, calm and engaging encounter against Luton Phoenix. After a good start, we conceded from loose ball from a set piece after some poor marking to go a goal down.

Responding well, Shay got us a goal back right before the half time whistle from a ball across the Phoenix box after some tenacious work from Glenn too win the ball back deep in the opposition half.

We never really looked like conceding after that and controlled the second half, using the subs to rotate and refresh the game, ultimately keeping on top of a tiring Phoenix side. The winner, scored by Reece was a testament to the teams performance and a very well deserved goal, bring the ball down from his chest to run into the box and slot it low past the keeper with a cool finish.

We managed the game very well after that, running the clock down with some mature play, and again, never really looking in any trouble. A very solid performance from everyone, and a MOTM performance from James in Midfield.
